This complete sheet of SG3 (24 impressions) and SG3a (1 impression). The variety “large V in VIRGIN” is in row 2, position 1. This is the early stage before retouching. The shade varies greatly throughout the sheet, and some of the stamps would rank as SG 4, the deep rose shade. Position 25 shows an ink surplus through the “S” of “SIX“, which may be unique. A truly remarkable one-of-a-kind presentation of the first issue.
